My friend Ethan Turpin gave me a heads up on a very cool art event that will be happening this weekend at Viva Workshop. The idea is that Ethan, Saul Grey-Hildenbrand, and a small group of local artist including Ulrike Kerber, Lyza Fontana, Meg Barbour, Johnny Troyna, and Deb Chaney are going get together at the Viva Workshop at 10am on Saturday and will spend the next 24 hours in an art production marathon working on individual pieces, collaborations, or whatever inspires them for the sake of art. Visitors will not be allowed during the Marathon itself, so don’t plan on crashing the event. However, they will be opening the studio at the conclusion of the event at 10am on Sunday the 25th for an informal unveiling of the results. I, for one, plan on showing up with coffee and tea for the participants and I’d love to see lots of people there to support them. If you can’t make it on Sunday, a formal opening will happen during the next First Thursday event on November 6th. Click on the press release below for full details. And you can check out the Viva Workshop blog here.
