First off, let me just say that I love your Art, Ben! I also love what you're doing for the people of other countries who do not have clean, fresh water, by donating money from bottled water to give them 100% of the proceeds, BUT...I'm wondering if you might consider using a different approach in giving these people the funds/clean water that they need so desperately?
Ben, what about instead of selling BOTTLED water (the bottles are very wasteful & bad for/on the environment), You could take the donations that you ask for or receive at your Events, and HELP the people help themselves by providing the WATER SYSTEMS?
My family has been helping out people in other countries for many years also in many capacities, and one of the most recent projects we helped with was in Quibdo, Columbia. We worked in getting donations for these really cool & effective Clean Water Systems...(CFCA is who my family has been affiliated with for the past 12 or so years...) These water SYSTEMS provide enough water for multiple families (usually 2) and it works with the RAIN....!!!(No empty bottles to litter, collect or hurt the environment here!...). There are also many other Systems...I recently heard of one called "The Hippo"? ( I think?).
It's a large "roller-ball" that they fill with water (either gathered from the rain in special bins or at the Villages water spout, (which CFCA also helps to create), then they "Roll" it to their house instead of having to carry the extremely heavy loads...It's kind of like the "roller balls" used in moving Boats/Catamarans...Pretty Cool!
I just wanted to give you additional ideas, since you are doing such an AMAZING job already and your Art is AWESOME! I also just like to keep an eye out for the Earth as well!
Thanks! Have a Great day and a Fabulous Show tonight! I'll be there!
