There is some strange confluence between skateboarding and art that seems to produce a whole lot of artwork that I completely love. Which is a bit ironic since I’ve never been on a skateboard once in my life. I guess I should just start a collection of original art on skate decks…

Anyhow, This show looks amazing, and I think skate parks are beneficial to most communities. If my young son decides one day to take up skateboarding, he will certainly have my full support. So in the humble opinion of this art blogger, this show is a win-win. Details below.

The Carpinteria Skate Park Foundation will be hosting it’s first Skate Art Show to benefit construction of the Carpinteria Skate Park.

When: Friday, June 3rd, 2016 from 5pm – 9pm
Where: Lucky Llama, 5100 Carpinteria Ave, Carpinteria, CA 93013
What: Skateboard Art Show with 50 local and international artists from both skate and surf industries.  Artists include, PRO surfer Dane Reynolds, PRO skaters JJ Wessels, Brian Bent, Mitch Abshere, Chase Stopnik and local artists Benjamin Anderson, Randy Noborikawa and Sean Anderson.

The community is invited to a FREE fun-filled evening with live music, food, drinks, friends, and fundraising.  There will be a silent auction, live music by AFishNSea, Beer from Island Brewing Co., Wine by Sarloos and Sons and food by Uncle Chen’s.  All proceeds benefit the Carpinteria Skate Foundation, an all-volunteer Non-Profit organization whose mission is to bring a public skate park to Carpinteria.
