Did you know that the Tennis Club of Santa Barbara celebrates 2nd Fridays? It was news to me until I recently met the lovely Susan Tibbles, who has been organizing the events. This month’s event is an invitational featuring a large group of (mostly local) artists.  The opening reception is from 5:30 – 7:30 tomorrow night, and the Tennis Club of Santa Barbara is located at 2375 Foothill Road. Tonight there is a great holiday party at Art From Scrap. There will be all sorts of holiday activities to partake in, and it is also your last chance to see the Retro Muse exhibit at the AFS Gallery. There is also a toy drive, so bring any unwrapped toys you might have sitting around and give them a good home.  If you haven’t got plans for the evening, this is a great event for a great cause. Next weekend The Arts Fund celebrates with a preview party for a group exhibit by the 2010 Individual Artist Award winners, Dug Uyesaka, Hilary Brace (nice website, Hilary!), and Linda Stewart-Oaten.

This event is a preview party and fundraiser for the exhibition. David Starkey will be handing out checks to the winners, SB writer Erin Graffy will be the Emcee and Justyna Kelley from LA will be the musical guest before she performs the following Tuesday at Soho.

This event benefits the IAA which benefits our local artists, so it is obviously worthy of your support, loyal readers. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door, so make sure to get your tickets in advance. They can be purchased by calling the Arts Fund at 965-7321 or going to our website at www.artsfundsb.org.
